About

Seed saving tools in everyone’s hands

This free, accessible educational initiative was born of a desire to offer home gardeners, permaculture practitioners and students practical, low-tech, and easy-to-implement solutions to save, produce, and share seeds within their community, with a focus on resiliency, heritage preservation, and food sovereignty. Outlining the importance, value, and potential of seed saving as a critical regenerative lever for the future, the knowledge shared here will also be of interest to Permaculture Design Course (PDC) holders seeking to specialize and hone their skills. Through their use, these empowering tools stand as a means to raise awareness around and stress the importance of seed saving as a vital foundation of human existence, threaten by climate change. They are a powerful catalyst to give birth to the much-needed seed savers and stewards of tomorrow, eager to act for the common good and reclaim our rights while promoting local food initiatives.

Being an ongoing long-term, all content shared through this platform will gradually be updated, expanded, and enriched over time with additional information, illustrations, photos, videos, and specific tutorials. Other forms of educational content are also being considered, more geared toward advanced seed savers. To further ensure the preservation of this project, all the resources will eventually be compiled and made available as a regularly updated downloadable .zip archive intended to be easily accessed and shared offline.

A project by seed savers for seed savers

LearnSeedSaving.com is offered and run independently by Samanea, an upcoming initiative committed to produce, share and protect seeds of local varieties, train future seed savers, and tend the land through regenerative and collective activism.

Note: We are still in search of an existing small community or neglected piece of land that would be willing to host and benefit from our project in Asia. Any help would be greatly appreciated, feel free to get in touch with us.

Help us to maintain this educational initiative
